Our History

1928

Drawing on extensive family history
in glassmaking, Fletcher M. Turner founded the F.M. Turner Company in Cleveland, Ohio, as an agency to connect a wide range of independent producers to an emerging commercial
non-foods marketplace.

1940s

As material demand evolves,
F.M. Turner becomes a leading
industry resource for aluminum
canning technologies,
enhancing
both manufacturer and consumer capabilities.

1950s

The end of World War II sparks a new era of consumer demand for convenience. Capital investments in manufacturing result in rapid industry growth, with F.M. Turner at the frontline, advancing our principals.

1990s

After decades of successful ownership, the Turner lineage began planning for the company's future. Holding family ownership as a core principle, F.M. Turner stock was sold to two Cleveland-area families with long-established experience in foodservice non-foods.

2000s

F.M. Turner sees the problems posed
by non-sustainable foodservice practices and makes a decision to be at the forefront of industry change, partnering with forward-thinking manufacturers to develop novel sustainable market channels.

2010s

Again facing the need for succession planning, F.M. Turner stock
is consolidated and acquired
by the Godlewski family,
proudly continuing a long track record
of independent operation.

2020

The world is blindsided by
the COVID-19 pandemic. Overnight,
the foodservice industry is completely shut down. Utilizing decades
of expertise, F.M. Turner is in position
to successfully guide core partners
and expand its territory footprint
to service the Mid-Atlantic.

2024

With a passion for non-foods
and pride in independent values, stock
is purchased by the next generation, with ambitions to carry the torch.
